Connect with others and pick up resources to tackle anxiety in the Golden Thread Gallery Hub this autumn.
GTG is taking part in the ‘Feeling Anxious?’ campaign with Belfast HSC this autumn, with access to free resources to help manage anxiety. You can find information and tools, access free mindfulness apps, and even seek help right away from the Minding Your Head website.
In Northern Ireland almost one-in-five adults has a potential mental health problem and anxiety is a common experience for many people. Looking after our mental health is not
something we should only do when we are feeling down, it’s something we should proactively maintain, just like our physical health.
Engaging in art activities has been proven to benefit mental health and help with anxiety and depression, improve focus, and promote relaxation. Drop into the Hub where we have printed information available, including some free goodies from the campaign!
The Gallery’s Engagement Assistant and Volunteers can guide you towards our activities to support mental health, from Mindful Making to Mindful Colouring In.
Or if you just need a quiet place to sit and breathe for a few minutes, you are very welcome too. Gentle creative activities are great for your brain. Come down to the Hub and end your week on a calm note.
The Feeling Anxious guide is available to download in many languages, including Arabic, Somali, Romanian and Lithuanian, here.
