Feel the energy of Irish music and make your mark on our giant canvas ‘living score’ in the Golden Thread Gallery Hub! Get inspired to make art by listening to songs by independent local artists.

Listen to The Magic Theatre by RUÁ during Draw and Score in the Golden Thread Gallery Hub on Tuesday 4 August from 12-4pm. 

Derry-born RUÁ’s ‘hauntingly cinematic’ and ‘ethereal’ sound has been compared to the likes of Adrianne Lenker and Jeff Buckley to name a few. Her music spans from intricate guitar lines paired with velvety melodies and intimate lyrics; to vivacious gypsy-folk stories of fortune tellers and ghosts; to minimal soundscapes accompanied by spoken word. Band members Conán Mullan (on whistle, fiddle and electric guitar) and Ciaran McCay (on drums and synth), enrich the genre-spanning sound, bringing each song into its own dreamlike world.

There are three Draw and Score sessions available on 4th, 6th and 8th August, and it’s completely free. No booking required, just pop in!

Suitable for ages 6+. All materials are provided, as well as refreshments. The GTG building is wheelchair and mobility scooter accessible.
