Our free creative workshops for teens & adults take place in our Community & Engagement Hub on the second Saturday of every month.
This month we will take inspiration from our new exhibition by artist John Rainey, to paint statues and busts in style of ancient Greece and Rome. Not only were many classical statues richly painted in their original forms, they portrayed many different ethnicities and nationalities. ‘Polychromy’ – or ‘many colours’ – was used to make statues stand out, and to convey certain meaning and status. What colours will you choose?
Workshops are facilitated by Katharine Paisley, Chloe Doherty and our lovely volunteers. All materials are provided, along with snacks & drinks.*
Please note: although workshops are free, places must be booked via our Eventbrite here.
*Halal / vegan snacks also available.
Accessibility
Workshops take place in our Hub on the ground floor of the gallery, with step-free ramp access. There is a wheelchair-accessible bathroom on the ground floor.
