We’re with the Band! Is an exciting new summer school for young people, who love music, art and ideas!
Summer Skoolers you will have a chance to work in collaboration with the new musical sensation NOT SQUARES on the making of a new music video! Participants will work along side visual artist Linda Monks, and musicians form NOT SQUARES, planning, writing and producing a video, with a Belfast twist. During the week long project each young person will have a chance to try their hand at many different art forms, from animation to writing, and work towards their very own exhibition/video launch in the Golden Thread Gallery’s Project Space, as part of LATE NIGHT ART on Thursday the 1st of September.
The young artists will get a chance to talk about their ideas with internationally acclaimed artist and music producer Keith Winters from NOT SQUARES, and Artist/Gallery Director Peter Richards.
During the weeklong sessions we will provide feedback, and together find new ways of having fun with art!
So why not make this a summer to remember, make new friends and have a super fun time doing it!

11am – 12.30pm: Introduction, ice breakers, exhibition tour and Keith/Not Squares give a brief for video.
12.30pm – 1.30pm: Belfast Music Museum tour/workshop at OH YEAH!
1pm – 3pm: Group project planning and ideas session for Video and animation.

11am – 11.30: You Tube session
11.30 – 12.30 pm: Start making/building.
12.30pm – 1pm: Lunch with Music.
1pm – 3pm: begin to make.
